An escaped lunatic who was once known for murdering and collecting teeth has escaped from a mental asylum. Now, a group of teachers on a trip find themselves in grave danger as they are stalked one by one in the middle of the mountains.

Dad's not having a great morning: at breakfast, his wife points out that his attempt to fix the sink was unsuccessful, his older daughter is miffed that he tossed one of her drawings from school, and his younger daughter awakes to find that the Tooth Fairy didn't show up last night, as promised. Dad makes excuses for the Tooth Fairy. Late that night, after fixing the sink, he remembers his dental duties. Under his sleeping daughter's pillow, he finds a note and the first clue to a treasure hunt she has set out for the Tooth Fairy. He's exhausted, but he searches out clue after clue as the night passes. It's a race against the sun.

One night, María and Francisco begin living together. Seeing no food in the refrigerator, Francisco decides to buy a special meal. During this time, María is left alone, sorting through her belongings in the apartment. She feels watched by someone who doesn't see her. She finds her old scrapbook containing her imaginary friend, the Tooth Fairy, and sees several photographs and drawings she doesn't remember seeing. In fact, when she gets rid of the scrapbook, a huge humanoid creature stalks her. María reaches a fever pitch where the creature will drive her mad until it ends her life.
